[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do held the '1st Living Quarantine Council' at the provincial government office on the 9th to gather expert opinions on the proposed revision of the social distancing system.

The meeting, chaired by Kim Seonju, head of the Gyeongnam Infectious Disease Management Support Group and co-chair of the Living Quarantine Council, was attended not only by relevant experts but also by newly appointed members representing self-employed business owners.

At the council, the province explained the current status of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak and vaccination progress, and shared the proposed revision of the social distancing system announced at the public hearing on the 5th.

In particular, in-depth discussions were held to collect opinions from various sectors regarding the distancing revision plan, which aims to establish a sustainable distancing system based on autonomy and responsibility.

Chairman Kim Seonju stated, "We will submit the opinions received today to the government and strive to create a sustainable social distancing revision plan."

Additionally, Shin Jongwoo, Director of Welfare and Health Bureau of Gyeongsangnam-do, urged, "This social distancing revision is a measure to suppress and respond to the 4th wave, and for it to be implemented as soon as possible, it is necessary for the residents to comply with quarantine rules."

Meanwhile, the province has continuously collected field opinions from cities, counties, and related organizations and associations, and plans to propose to the government that the opinions raised at today's council be reflected in the revision of the distancing system.
