Hapcheon-gun Holds Meeting of Urban Regeneration Promotion Team and Administrative Council

Promotion of Urban Regeneration New Deal Contest Project

Hapcheon-gun Urban Regeneration Promotion Team is holding an administrative council meeting.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 9th that it held a meeting of the Urban Regeneration Promotion Team and Administrative Council with about 20 officials from relevant departments and agencies in the small conference room of the county office to promote the ‘2021 Hapcheon-gun Urban Regeneration New Deal Contest Project.’

The Urban Regeneration Promotion Team and Administrative Council are internal consultative bodies of the county for establishing an urban regeneration activation plan, aiming to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the activation plan to enhance the practical project effects when selecting contest projects.

At the meeting, various opinions were presented, including ways for youth to actively participate in the Hapcheon-eup area vitality leading base project and emphasizing that the Chogye Basin was formed by a meteorite impact, as recently announced by the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources, suggesting the creation of a small-scale observatory and meteorite park.

Choi Yong-nam, Deputy Governor of Hapcheon-gun, said in his greeting, "Please gather your capabilities to establish a solid plan by collecting diverse opinions from experts and all walks of life so that the urban regeneration activation plan can lead the county’s change and innovation."

Meanwhile, the activation plans for Hapcheon-eup and Chogye-myeon are scheduled to be submitted to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport contest around May this year after going through urban regeneration university, resident council meetings, and expert consulting.
