Recruitment for One Month Until the 9th of Next Month
Support for Promotion, Funding, and Matching
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The government is supporting the expansion of overseas sales channels for excellent domestic digital content companies, including virtual convergence technology (XR) content, a core growth industry in the non-face-to-face era of COVID-19.
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 9th that it will conduct an integrated recruitment of participating companies for the ‘2021 Digital Content Overseas Expansion Support Project’ to support the successful overseas advancement of domestic digital content companies, including the new technology market such as XR.
The recruitment announcement will be held for about a month from the 10th of this month to the 9th of next month. Any domestic digital content company launching content or services in domestic or overseas markets can participate. The recruitment announcement period varies by business, and detailed information can be found on the Ministry of Science and ICT website and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency website.
The Ministry of Science and ICT supports domestic companies’ overseas expansion through various methods, including ▲joint production of XR content with local companies in 5G commercial countries ▲digital and online overseas promotion and marketing ▲investment attraction support such as crowdfunding and investor relations (IR) consulting to secure overseas expansion funds ▲global exhibitions (MWC) overseas business matching ▲support for participation in online exhibitions to enter emerging markets such as New Northern, New Southern, and the Middle East ▲and providing market information, investor discovery, and legal and accounting advisory services through overseas base centers of the National IT Industry Promotion Agency in the United States, Vietnam, Singapore, and other locations.
In addition, the ‘Digital Content Company Joint Overseas Expansion Support Project,’ which discovers global XR content and supports overseas commercialization through consortia among domestic content, distribution, and manufacturing companies, is also recruiting until the 23rd.
Since last year, the Ministry of Science and ICT has supported about 200 promising digital content companies through non-face-to-face online roadshows and other means to open overseas expansion routes for digital content companies struggling due to COVID-19. For example, Magenta Company’s ‘Non-face-to-face VR Remote Travel Platform’ signed a joint production contract with the Italian Tourism Board, and Immersive Cast’s ‘5G Cloud VR Car Experience Solution’ signed a pilot contract with the German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom. Commercialization of services in the European region is also being prepared.
Kim Jeong-sam, Director of Software Policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT, said, “The activities of our digital content companies are attracting attention in the rapidly changing global market due to the COVID-19 situation,” adding, “We will continue to help domestic digital content companies grow into competitive global companies and take the lead in securing new overseas markets.”
