Monthly Discounts Up to 20,000 KRW on Subscription Services, Convenience Stores, and Language Test Fees
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] KB Kookmin Card announced on the 9th that it has launched the 'KB Kookmin Saeroyi Check Card,' which offers discount benefits when using subscription services, convenience stores, language test fees, and other sectors reflecting the lifestyles of university students and young professionals.
This card provides a monthly discount benefit of up to 20,000 KRW when paying at representative merchants in five sectors: convenience stores, travel & telecommunications, food & beverage, subscription services, and education, depending on the previous month's usage.
The card design features KB Financial Group's representative character Star Friends, consisting of five characters?Kiki (Dal Tokki), Ageo (Ugly Duckling), Bibi (Teddy Bear), Ramu (Llama), and Collie (Broccoli)?in a vertical design.
If the previous month's usage is over 300,000 KRW, a 5% discount is applied to payments in the following sectors: convenience stores (GS25), travel & telecommunications (SoCar, Yanolja, Livem), food & beverage (Starbucks, Paris Baguette), subscription services (Melon, Genie, Netflix, Wavve), and education (Kyobo Bookstore, TOEIC and other language test online registration fees).
The discount benefits are provided as follows: if the previous month's usage is over 300,000 KRW, up to 2,000 KRW per sector per month; if over 600,000 KRW, up to 4,000 KRW per sector per month.
This card can be issued to individuals aged 12 and older and has no annual fee. Card applications can be made through the KB Kookmin Card website, mobile application, customer center, and KB Kookmin Bank branches.
A KB Kookmin Card official stated, "This card analyzes the consumption patterns and trends of university students and young professionals, providing various discount benefits when using subscription services and language test sectors that customers frequently use and show high interest in. We plan to continue introducing customized specialized products reflecting the characteristics of check card customers."
Meanwhile, to commemorate the launch of this card, KB Kookmin Card will hold a draw until the end of April for customers who spend over 5,000 KRW using the KB Kookmin Saeroyi Check Card equipped with the UnionPay brand. Prizes will be awarded to a total of 519 winners, including ▲LG Gram 16 laptop (1 person) ▲Galaxy Watch 3 (3 people) ▲Nintendo Switch (5 people) ▲Galaxy Buds Pro (10 people) ▲Starbucks Americano mobile coupon (1 each for 500 people).
