[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The briefing session for the construction of Ulsan's Second Myeongchon Bridge will be held at 11 a.m. on the 9th at the planned construction site, attended by Ulsan Mayor Song Cheol-ho, Jung-gu District Mayor Park Tae-wan, and citizens.

On this day, Mayor Song Cheol-ho will personally explain to the attendees the necessity of the project, its progress, and the future procedures.

The Second Myeongchon Bridge is planned to be opened with a total length of 960 meters, including two bridges, and a width of 30 to 40 meters (4 to 6 lanes).

In July 2019, Ulsan City completed its own feasibility study and in November requested the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to reflect it in the 4th Metropolitan Area Traffic Congestion Road Improvement Plan.

If incorporated into the national plan, the project will proceed through procedures such as preliminary feasibility study, feasibility evaluation, and basic planning before construction begins.

The design cost will be fully covered by national funds, and 50% of the construction cost, including the construction expenses, can be subsidized by national funds, providing 67.2 billion KRW out of the total project cost of 130 billion KRW, which will greatly assist Ulsan's finances.

Once the Second Myeongchon Bridge is constructed, it is expected to not only disperse the traffic volume concentrated on Hakseong Bridge and Myeongchon Grand Bridge but also directly connect Gangnam-ro and Gangbuk-ro, forming another north-south traffic axis and linking the central commercial districts of Jung-gu and Nam-gu, greatly contributing to economic revitalization.
