Hanwha Systems and Chung-Ang University Open 'AI Learner-Customized Education Support System'

[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Hanwha Systems announced on the 9th that it has completed the construction of Chung-Ang University's AI-based education support system 'CAU e-Advisor' and will start integrated services from the new semester this year.

Chung-Ang University's 'CAU e-Advisor' is designed to provide systematic student support services in academic administrative tasks such as course registration, attendance, classes, and graduation. Hanwha Systems integrates academic data dispersed across various support systems within the university and analyzes students' learning activity data based on AI technology to recommend customized major roadmaps and learning activities, as well as provide portfolio management functions for students' career paths.

Key services include academic planning support through personalized major-specific course recommendations and extracurricular activity suggestions throughout all stages of university life, management of learning schedules and class activities, timetable simulation, AI-based profile recommendations and strength and weakness analysis based on similarity. Additionally, it offers services for students such as customized notifications for major announcements, campus life information, and recruitment information. For user convenience, it operates both PC and mobile application versions and supports English and Chinese for international students.

Hanwha Systems implemented AI technology by analyzing Chung-Ang University's structured and unstructured data within its AI brand 'HAIQV' platform environment. The AI application model analyzed various student activities and performed learning, applying unstructured data to the learning method using a 'word embedding' approach similar to language acquisition processes, enabling optimized personalized recommendation services for each user.

Kim Yeon-cheol, CEO of Hanwha Systems, said, "In an era where life quarantine has become the 'new normal' due to the spread of COVID-19, we have built a system that allows students to receive optimal education and high-quality learning activity support services remotely." He added, "Hanwha Systems will continue to lead the digital transformation by introducing various contactless services based on leading AI technology."
