Actress Lee Ji-eun (52), who starred in films such as 'Geumhong-ah Geumhong-ah (1995)' and 'Paran Daemun (1998)', has passed away.


According to the police on the 9th, Lee was found dead at her home in Jung-gu, Seoul, around 8 p.m. the previous day. The police were dispatched following a report from an acquaintance who could not reach her. It was reported that Lee had been living alone after her son, who lived with her, enlisted in the military. The police plan to determine the exact cause of death through an autopsy.


Lee debuted in the entertainment industry in 1994 as a model for the 'Sports Look is Coming' segment on SBS's 'Good Morning.' She received great love for her impressive performances in dramas such as 'Feeling (1994)' and 'Young People's Sunny Place (1995).' Her representative work includes 'Geumhong-ah Geumhong-ah,' where she realistically portrayed a romance with genius poet Lee Sang (Kim Gap-soo) and Fauvist hunchback painter Gu Bon-ung (Kim Soo-chul), earning her Best New Actress awards at the Blue Dragon Film Awards and the Grand Bell Awards.
