Hana Bank Provides Liquidity Support to CU Franchise Owners... [Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Hana Bank announced on the 9th that it has signed a win-win financial business agreement with BGF Retail and will engage in various business partnerships to support CU convenience store franchisees who have been struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.


Through this business agreement, Hana Bank and BGF Retail will jointly promote comprehensive business cooperation in various areas including ▲ operation of a CU-exclusive ‘Mobile Branch’ ▲ provision of credit guarantee foundation loan agency services ▲ management of a win-win cooperation fund ▲ mutual joint marketing ▲ development of new products and services. As a result, CU convenience store franchisees will be able to use the exclusive Hana Bank ‘Mobile Branch’ to quickly handle all banking transactions and consultations at any Hana Bank branch non-face-to-face, without the need to install a separate app, sign up as a member, or visit a branch.


Additionally, CU convenience store franchisees in the Seoul and Gyeonggi areas will be provided with a simple service that allows them to apply for credit guarantee foundation secured loans non-face-to-face without visiting the bank or the credit guarantee foundation. Franchisees in other regions will also receive prompt application and consultation services through nearby Hana Bank branches. Furthermore, Hana Bank and BGF Retail plan to jointly provide liquidity support to help CU convenience store franchisees overcome the COVID-19 crisis through the operation of the win-win cooperation fund.


Lee Ho-sung, Executive Vice President of Hana Bank’s Central Sales Group, said, “With this business agreement, we will stand as a reliable partner providing timely liquidity support to CU convenience store franchisees struggling due to the COVID-19 situation, offering practical assistance.”
