Discovering and Supporting Innovative Projects Contributing Significantly to Expanding Equal Social Participation and Welfare Improvement for Persons with Disabilities

Seocho-gu Social Welfare Fund Disabled Welfare Support Project Contest... Up to 20 Million KRW Support


[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Eunhee Jo) is publicly recruiting participating organizations for the '2021 Social Welfare Fund Disabled Welfare Support Project' to discover and support projects that significantly contribute to expanding equal social participation and welfare improvement for people with disabilities.


The eligible applicants are disability organizations and non-profit corporations (organizations) and facilities located in Seocho-gu (non-profit corporations under Article 32 of the Civil Act, non-profit private organizations under Article 2 of the Act on Support for Non-Profit Private Organizations, facilities established and operated under Article 34 of the Social Welfare Services Act, and other organizations whose main purpose is the improvement of welfare for people with disabilities without profit motives).


The total budget is 100 million KRW, and project costs can be supported up to 5 million to 20 million KRW per project. The subsidy amount will be differentially supported through review depending on the nature of the project.


The support project fields are 'Disabled Welfare Program Support Project' and 'Disabled Welfare Facility Function Enhancement Project.'


First, the Disabled Welfare Program Support Project includes ▲capacity building for people with disabilities ▲program operation for adults with disabilities ▲support for families of people with disabilities ▲support for cultural, artistic, and tourism activities for people with disabilities ▲projects in the fields of disability awareness improvement and human rights enhancement.


Also, the Disabled Welfare Facility Function Enhancement Project includes ▲replacement of old vehicles and support for purchasing new vehicles for disabled welfare facilities ▲equipment reinforcement for new and existing projects of disabled welfare facilities ▲installation and supplementation of convenience facilities in disabled welfare facilities.


However, ▲projects mainly for organization promotion or commemorative events such as organization establishment ▲projects mainly consisting of recurring expenses are restricted from support.


Additionally, ▲corporations receiving support from the state, other local governments, or public interest corporations for similar projects ▲projects supporting specific elected candidates or purely religious activities are also excluded from the support projects.


The application period is from March 8 to 19, and related application documents can be submitted by visiting the Seocho-gu Office Social Welfare Division or by email (hansohui@seocho.go.kr).


The project period is from April to October, and supported organizations will be selected through a review of the appropriateness of the purpose and amount of use in April.
