[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 9th that it will launch a new food specialty program called ‘Tasty: Mat (Tasty: Taste)’ on the 16th, introducing popular menu items from restaurants operated by the top active celebrity chefs.
This program was developed after analyzing customer needs and trends from various angles, as demand expanded from home meal replacements (HMR) to restaurant meal replacements (RMR), allowing people to cook famous restaurant dishes at home due to reduced dining-out opportunities caused by COVID-19.
Collaborating with top active celebrity chefs such as Choi Hyun-seok, Yeo Kyung-rae, and Mikael, the program introduces popular menu items from the restaurants they directly operate. It is conducted in a format where the chefs personally cook dishes using various recipes and serve guests. Unlike existing food broadcasts, the studio is recreated as an open kitchen restaurant, with show hosts appearing as guests who order menu items, while the chefs handle cooking, plating, and serving.
In the first broadcast, Chef Choi Hyun-seok will appear to present the ‘Hanwoo Steak Set’ made exclusively with premium raw meat from Hoengseong Livestock Cooperative Hanwoo, which is introduced about once a year due to raw material supply. Subsequently, exclusive new products such as ‘Chef Choi Hyun-seok’s Beef Barbecue Big Ribs’ and ‘Yeo Kyung-rae and Choi Hyun-seok’s Sweet and Sour Pork & Guobaorou’ will be continuously introduced.
A Lotte Homeshopping official said, “We plan to strengthen our competitiveness by newly launching a differentiated product planning and content-centered food specialty program that faithfully reproduces restaurant recipes in collaboration with famous chefs.”
