Recruitment of Institutions and Organizations to Operate Jungnang Innovation Education District Programs Until March 19... Targeting 5 Projects Including 'Village School', 'Parent Clubs', and 'Out-of-School Youth Clubs'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is accepting applications from institutions and organizations to operate programs for the 2021 Jungnang Innovation Education District project until March 19.
The Innovation Education District is a project where the public, private, and academic sectors participate and cooperate together to realize a community education ecosystem, enabling children and youth to grow as agents of life in schools and their communities.
This year’s Innovation Education District public project includes a total of five programs: ‘Jungnang Village School,’ ‘Village School Council,’ ‘Village Teacher Study Club,’ ‘Out-of-School Youth Club,’ and ‘Parent Club.’
Eligible applicants are institutions or organizations with educational capabilities, voluntary resident groups, and a total of approximately 168 million KRW will be supported through application and review.
Applications for the public project can be submitted by sending the application form and project plan via email or by visiting the Jungnang Innovation Education District task support office in person.
For more details, please check the Jungnang-gu Office website under Jungnang Introduction → Jungnang News → Announcements/Notices.
The five public projects are as follows. First, ‘Jungnang Village School’ is recruiting 40 ‘hub, small-scale, and cyber’ village schools to operate after-school programs. Recruitment fields include various areas such as culture, sports, character education, arts, and ecology.
The ‘Village School Council’ is accepting applications from organizations or groups of three or more people within the region capable of operating a village school council, focusing on ‘village school promotion, applicant reception and management, and village school network formation.’
The ‘Village Teacher Study Club’ aims to develop village education content through research club activities, and the ‘Out-of-School Youth Club’ supports activity expenses for youth-led and creative clubs.
Lastly, the ‘Parent Club’ is open to clubs of five or more parents of students attending local elementary, middle, or high schools. Selected 30 teams will receive activity funds to help parents develop capabilities to grow as a key pillar of the Innovation Education District governance.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “Through the Jungnang Innovation Education District public project, the entire community beyond schools can participate in children’s education,” and added, “We ask for your great interest and active participation so that children can have diverse educational experiences in the local community.”
Meanwhile, since being designated as an Innovation Education District in 2019, the district has been creating an educational environment where residents participate and cooperate through public, private, and academic collaboration under the vision of ‘Jungnang, a happy educational city for children and youth created together with the community.’
So far, it has promoted 20 innovation education projects in four areas: ▲ operation of school curricula with the community ▲ support for community activities ▲ support for children and youth autonomous activities ▲ operation of public-private-academic governance.
