Professional Psychological Counseling Support to Comfort the Weary Hearts of Dobong-gu Employees On the 8th, an employee met with the counseling support officer of Dobong-gu and asked about the application procedure for the psychological counseling support program and the counseling program.

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) will operate the 'Employee Psychological Counseling Support Program' starting in March to promote mental health and provide prevention and healing for its employees.

This program was established to protect employees from special complaints such as verbal abuse and assault, and to reduce workplace stress caused by excessive workload, power harassment, and bullying.

The district believes that emotional distress and decreased job satisfaction in the workplace are factors that reduce work efficiency and administrative services. They expect that this opportunity will increase employee job satisfaction and consequently improve the quality of public administrative services.

The program includes ▲ comprehensive online stress tests (MSS diagnosis) for all employees ▲ ongoing self-diagnosis programs ▲ and individual 1:1 psychological counseling.

The stress test for all employees will be conducted between March and April, consisting of 105 questions. Individual test results will be provided, and the results will be compiled for organizational diagnosis and expert consulting.

Individual 1:1 psychological counseling will be available year-round for all employees at contracted counseling centers. Employees can choose between face-to-face or remote phone counseling according to their preference.

Counseling topics are open, covering workplace (job) stress as well as personal life issues. Counseling records and personal information will be strictly protected. Employees wishing to receive 1:1 counseling will be connected with a counseling manager to coordinate schedules, after which counseling sessions will be conducted face-to-face or remotely at professional counseling centers in the Seoul and Gyeonggi areas.

Additionally, an ongoing self-diagnosis program is supported. Employees can access it anytime via PC or mobile to assess job stress factors and burnout syndrome (exhaustion scale).

Mayor Dongjin Lee of Dobong-gu stated, “In addition to our regular administrative duties, the prolonged workload due to COVID-19 since last year has increased employees’ mental distress and fatigue. Through this program, we will do our best to reduce job stress and foster a healthy organizational culture by providing psychological stability.”
