[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) will operate a ‘1:1 Career and College Admission Counseling Program’ from April to December.

This program was prepared to provide various admission information to examinees through personalized college admission counseling and to support successful college admission in line with the changing college entrance environment.

The target audience includes current students or parents residing in Dongjak-gu or attending high schools located in the area, as well as repeat test takers.

Counseling sessions will be held for 40 minutes per person at the Dongjak-gu Kim Youngsam Library every Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30 PM for 3 hours, and will be converted to phone or online counseling depending on the COVID-19 situation.

This year, the number of counseling sessions has been increased in the first and second halves of the year so that more examinees can receive help.

Teachers belonging to the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education’s College Admission Guidance Team will provide detailed guidance on ▲diagnosing current status through analysis of school records and mock exams ▲setting target universities, admission types, and departments ▲managing school records suitable for the applied department ▲and study methods that fit the individual.

Applications can be made on a first-come, first-served basis through the district website from the 1st to the 20th of each month, one month prior to the desired counseling date.

For arts and physical education fields, if specified at the time of application, specialized subject counseling teachers will be connected to provide customized counseling.

Jongrok Jeong, Director of the Education Policy Division, said, “We hope that many examinees will obtain accurate college admission information suited to themselves through this counseling program and achieve good results,” and added, “We encourage many interested people to participate.”

Meanwhile, the district operated the 1:1 Career and College Admission Counseling Program from May to December last year, with 82 examinees and parents participating and showing a high satisfaction rate of 91%.
