Recruitment of 19 Good Price Businesses in Dongjak-gu Sanitation of Affordable Price Businesses

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) is recruiting new Good Price Businesses that contribute to revitalizing the local economy and stabilizing prices through reasonable prices and differentiated services.

Since 2019, the district has established an ordinance to support Good Price Businesses, the first among Seoul's autonomous districts, and has supported a total of 71 "Dongjak-gu-type Good Price Businesses," showing high satisfaction rates for incentives such as 91% for consumables support and 88% for small-scale facility improvements.

This year, due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic causing economic difficulties, 19 new businesses including restaurants, beauty salons, and laundries will be recruited, expanding the total to 90 businesses.

Eligible applicants are individual service businesses with fewer than five employees that provide affordable prices, clean hygiene, and excellent service. However, businesses exceeding the local average price, entertainment bars, and franchise businesses are excluded from eligibility.

Businesses wishing to participate can submit applications along with business registration certificates by visiting the Economic Promotion Division (74 Noryangjin-ro, 9th floor, Yuhan Yanghaeng) or by emailing the person in charge (dey1116@dongjak.go.kr) from the 8th to the 17th.

The district will conduct on-site inspections by hygiene inspectors and officials, and comprehensive evaluations of price, hygiene and cleanliness, quality, and service within this month, with final selections made in April.

Selected Good Price Businesses will receive support such as small-scale facility improvements, disinfection and cleaning, social insurance fees, promotion, and electrical safety inspections, along with customized consumables support up to 1 million KRW per business type to help activate the operation of Good Price Businesses.

Kim Jung-won, head of the Economic Promotion Division, said, "Through the expanded operation by recruiting new Good Price Businesses this time, we will strengthen support for small business owners who are the core of the local economy and do our best to promote the project so that residents can use the services with confidence."
