[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-woo] An accomplice who aided the Sunni extremist terrorist organization Islamic State (IS) in the 2015 terrorist attack in Paris, France, which resulted in over 130 deaths, has been arrested in Italy.
According to major foreign news outlets on the 8th (local time), the IS terror accomplice arrested in Bari, Italy, is a 36-year-old man of Algerian nationality. He is suspected of providing forged documents related to the terror attack to the assailants who attacked the Bataclan concert hall, nearby restaurants, and the Stade de France sports stadium in Paris at the time.
During the terror attack, simultaneous coordinated attacks occurred at at least seven locations, including near the Stade de France, the national stadium in Saint-Denis where a friendly football match between France and Germany was held. There were at least three explosions and six shootings, and at the Bataclan theater, over 60 hostages were taken. The number of deaths in this terror attack reached over 130.
The terror attack that took place in November 2015 caused hundreds of casualties and is regarded by major foreign news outlets as the deadliest incident in France since World War II.
