Expected Effects of Competency-Based Learning to Develop Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, and Problem-Solving Skills through Volunteer Service Learning
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Volunteer Center announced on the 9th that it will sign a 'Student Volunteer Activity Activation Business Agreement' with the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, Seoul Youth Activity Promotion Center, and Seoul Social Welfare Council on the 10th.
This business agreement aims to implement a competency-centered program that fosters collaboration, communication, creativity, and problem-solving skills through student volunteer activities. The Seoul Volunteer Center has previously conducted a 'Curriculum-linked Model Study' through analysis of the Seoul-type Volunteer Learning Practice School program in cooperation with district volunteer centers.
Additionally, through this joint agreement, they plan to establish a youth volunteer learning network to promote continuous and multifaceted cooperation. After the agreement, forums will be held for policy development, system improvement, and infrastructure building related to volunteer learning, continuing cooperation to recognize and solve common challenges.
Kim Eui-wook, director of the Seoul Volunteer Center, said, "We will create a place where youth are not isolated due to COVID-19, and where the daily life of schools is restored to learn the value of community."
