Gwangju Seobu Fire Station Focuses on Spring Fire Prevention Measures

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Western Fire Station (Chief Lee Cheontaek) announced on the 8th that it will implement spring fire prevention measures until May.

Over the past five years, the proportion of fires occurring in Gwangju Metropolitan City during spring (March to May) was the highest among the four seasons, accounting for 29%.

In particular, March recorded the highest number of fire incidents even within the spring season, indicating the need for special attention to fire prevention during spring.

The Western Fire Station plans to focus on ▲fire safety consulting for vulnerable facilities such as residential vinyl greenhouses and small-scale lodging facilities ▲fire safety management for multi-use facilities ▲fire safety measures in preparation for major events (such as Buddha’s Birthday) ▲establishing an infectious disease response system through fire prevention patrols at vaccine-related facilities ▲and establishing preparedness and response systems for forest fires.

Chief Lee Cheontaek of the Western Fire Station said, “We will do our best to prevent fires and minimize damage in preparation for the high fire risk during spring,” adding, “We will create an environment where citizens can enjoy spring outings with peace of mind.”
