[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] From now on, anyone will be able to report public officials' speculative acts through the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission's Integrity Portal service. Focused reports will be accepted until the end of June on all speculative acts by public officials, including the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) land speculation scandal, real estate, and stocks.

On the 8th, the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission announced the opening ceremony of the Integrity Portal's corruption public interest reporting 'Report Assistant' website. Through this service, anyone can freely report corrupt acts such as LH real estate speculation suspicions. It can be accessed via various platforms including mobile phones and tablet PCs.

The Commission built the Integrity Portal corruption public interest reporting system over four years. In the improved system, the 'Report Assistant' service allows users to report corruption and public interest violations simply by selecting given examples. Users can also view detailed progress for each stage such as reporting, consultation, protection, and compensation application. Even without knowing the 467 laws subject to public interest infringement under the 'Public Interest Whistleblower Protection Act,' the system automatically classifies the report type and provides guidance on the violation and relevant laws.

The Commission has established a system that discloses and datafies various anti-corruption information such as reports, consultations, policies, and media, enabling analysis. Citizens can check various disclosed anti-corruption information, issue status, trends by report type, regional report status, and major anti-corruption trends through the system. Public institutions can share major anti-corruption issues and implement data-driven anti-corruption policies by utilizing reports received by the institution, reports related to specific corruption issues, and anti-corruption issues appearing in the media.

Jeon Hyun-hee, Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, said, "We have newly launched the 'Integrity Portal Corruption Public Interest Reporting' to provide citizens with a convenient and safe environment for corruption and public interest reporting," adding, "We will contribute to advancing into the top 20 countries in the National Integrity Index (CPI) next year by supporting systematic anti-corruption policy promotion based on data."
