Former Finnish Ambassador Kim Su-gwon to Join Dongseo University Faculty Kim Su-gwon, former Ambassador to Finland, invited as a professor at Dongseo University.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Dongseo University (President Jang Je-guk) has invited former Finnish Ambassador Kim Su-gwon as a visiting professor and will begin lectures from this semester.

Professor Kim Su-gwon worked as a diplomat for 32 years until 2018, serving at overseas missions such as embassies, consulates general, and representative offices.

His main areas of service were Europe and North America, and through training at the University of Oxford and the University of London (SOAS), he possesses extensive experience and knowledge in European history, politics, society, and culture.

Professor Kim will teach the courses "European Society and Culture" and "Korean Peninsula Unification and International Relations" at the Minseok College of Liberal Arts.

The course "European Society and Culture," offered in the first semester, aims to develop students' international sensibility and foster a global mindset through content on European society, history, philosophy, and culture.

In the second semester, the course "Korean Peninsula Unification and International Relations" is scheduled to be offered. In this course, Professor Kim will share his practical diplomatic experience in building a peace regime on the Korean Peninsula amid rapidly changing circumstances, drawing on his roles as head of the Peace Diplomacy Planning Group, minister at the Permanent Mission to the UN, senior administrative officer at the Office of the Senior Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Security in the Presidential Office, and director of the North America Section 3.

Dongseo University expects that Professor Kim's theoretical knowledge and practical field experience regarding Europe, which has low regional accessibility from Korea, will be of great help to students.
