Jangseong-gun Supports Low-Income Families with Diapers and Infant Formula

Jangseong-gun Supports Low-Income Families with Diapers and Infant Formula

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Doo-seok) announced on the 8th that it will support 'diapers and formula milk' to reduce the economic burden of infant care for low-income families.

The support targets low-income households with infants under 2 years old (basic livelihood security recipients, near-poverty class, single-parent families), households with disabled persons earning less than 80% of the median income, and multi-child households (2 or more children).

However, formula milk is only supported in cases where breastfeeding is impossible due to the mother's death or illness (such as chemotherapy) among the eligible recipients.

Applications can be made after birth registration. If applied within 60 days from the date of birth, support is provided for the full 24 months; if applied after 60 days, support is provided only for the remaining period up to 24 months.

Applications can be submitted online or by visiting the public health center.

To prevent COVID-19 infection, applications can be made inside the vehicle without separate movement when visiting the public health center.

The support amount is 64,000 KRW per month for diapers and 86,000 KRW per month for formula milk, provided as voucher points on the National Happiness Card, which can be used at designated online shopping malls and offline stores.

Governor Yoo Doo-seok said, “Low birthrate is an issue that all of us must overcome,” and added, “We will do our best to make the county a good place to have and raise children.”
