Gominjeong: "Oh Who Says Reconstruction and Redevelopment Will Be Released Within a Week, Seoul City Administration Is Not Playing Block Games"

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Joo-yeon] Go Min-jung, a member of the National Assembly who joined Park Young-sun's campaign as the spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Korea's Seoul mayoral by-election candidate, criticized Oh Se-hoon, the People Power Party candidate who promised to lift redevelopment regulations, saying, "The shadow of MB and the Grand National Party looms large."

On the 8th, Go issued a statement regarding Oh's interview with the media, in which he said, "If I take office, I will lift reconstruction and redevelopment regulations within a week," evaluating that "During Mayor Oh's tenure, many parts of Seoul suffered under the name of development."

Go pointed out, "On the day 'Pimatgol' was redeveloped, Seoul citizens lost their history and memories," adding, "The 'Yongsan Tragedy,' starring Lee Myung-bak and co-starring Oh Se-hoon, was a horrific scene just to recall."

She also emphasized, "There is no need to say that eradicating speculation and stabilizing housing for ordinary people are fundamental to real estate policy," and stressed, "Seoul city administration is not a block toy to be handed over to someone who promises to lift real estate regulations in a military operation style within a week."

Go said, "Although the signboard has changed from the Grand National Party to the People Power Party, the idea of driving Seoul into a development frenzy rather than housing stability does not seem to have changed," warning, "The development nightmare that erases the history of Seoul citizens and takes away their homes must not be repeated."

Go's blunt remarks toward Oh continued during a radio broadcast that morning.

In an interview with YTN Radio's 'Hwang Bo-seon's Start of a New Morning,' Go referred to last year's general election, saying, "Even after the election ended, (Oh) continued to claim that he lost to President Moon Jae-in, not to me, and did not fairly acknowledge the competition with me," criticizing, "In today's terms, he does not seem to have a cool personality."

Go added, "When I ran in the election, I did not criticize my opponent," and said, "I approached it with a strategy to show my competitiveness as much as possible, but Oh made various criticisms and attacks against me." She continued, "I hope that in this Seoul mayoral election, he will engage in a fair and honorable competition until the end."
