KOCCA to Recruit 43 Institutions for Creative Talent Development

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency are recruiting forty-three institutions to lead innovation in the future content industry until the 15th. The fields include ▲Content Creative Talent Partnership Project ▲Content One-Campus Establishment and Operation Project ▲Immersive Content Creator Training Project.

The Content Creative Talent Partnership Project is the flagship talent development program of the Korea Creative Content Agency. It connects field experts with prospective creators to conduct close-knit apprenticeship-style mentoring. Approximately 420 creative talents will be selected to support the development of creative abilities and entry into the content industry. Seventeen institutions will be selected and receive up to 540 million KRW in support. An official stated, "We will mandate a regional allocation of over 25% to contribute to balanced regional development."

The Content One-Campus Establishment and Operation Project involves curriculum operation and field training based on industry-academia-research-government cooperation projects. This year’s program focuses on enhancing convergence content creation and production capabilities based on advanced technologies. To improve practical skills, the industry-academia cooperation field training process will also be strengthened. About twenty consortia will be selected, centered on universities (graduate schools) collaborating with regional promotion agencies (metropolitan), companies, and research institutes. An official added, "We will apply a regional university quota of over 50%."

The Immersive Content Creator Training Project, newly established last year, aims to nurture talent for immersive content creation and production integrated with cultural content fields. In response to changes in the content industry environment and industry demand, the budget has been increased by 1 billion KRW from the previous year to 3.5 billion KRW. Six consortia will be selected, with up to 520 million KRW supported per institution.

The Korea Creative Content Agency will also newly promote an AI technology-linked project education program next month. It supports current industry professionals and prospective talents in the content industry to transition into AI content fields. Park Kyung-ja, Head of Corporate Talent Development Division, said, "We will help create excellent content through follow-up support even after the training."
