Ministry of SMEs and Startups - Korea Federation of SMEs Announce 1st Quarter 2021 Selection Results

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Federation of SMEs announced on the 8th that they have selected Seok Yong-chan, CEO of Eunseong Precision Printing, and Jeong Yeon-gyeong, CEO of Hanavision Systems, as the "Proud Small Business Owners" for the first quarter of this year.
Since founding Hwanam Industry, a manufacturer of plastic packaging containers, in 1987, CEO Seok has grown the company into a business with unique technological capabilities by investing in R&D and expanding production facilities for over 30 years, producing the only low-foamed sheet (C-Fine) in Korea.
In 2013, after acquiring Eunseong Precision Printing, a UV special printing package company, he established a total package solution system and contributed to the development of related industries through continuous eco-friendly technology development, including the development of new materials and functional packaging materials and obtaining FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification.
He has served as the chairman of the Paju City Entrepreneurs' Association and has engaged in social contribution activities as a sharing leader of the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest, providing scholarships to students in Paju, and was recognized as a community contribution company last year.
Additionally, as the chairman of the Korea Plastic Packaging Container Association, he contributes to the development of the packaging industry, and as the chairman of the Korea Management Innovation Small and Medium Business (MainBiz) Association, a group of about 19,000 innovative SMEs, he contributes to the innovative growth of small businesses.
Hanavision Systems, managed by CEO Jeong Yeon-gyeong, was established in 1993 and developed not only eco-friendly elevator air conditioners but also the first air-purifying elevator air conditioner with built-in air purification function in Korea last year, obtaining CA certification for the first time domestically.
CEO Jeong improved the distribution structure by shifting from ordering through elevator companies to direct contracts with customers, achieving service improvement and increased sales.
Since 2015, all employees, including foreign workers, have been made regular employees, and the company supports employees' career management and certification acquisition. An annual overseas workshop has been regularized to instill a spirit of challenge toward overseas markets.
Meanwhile, the "Proud Small Business Owner of the Month" is a system that discovers and awards outstanding entrepreneurs who have contributed to national industrial development through management rationalization, export increase, technology development, and more, to promote exemplary small business owners.
