[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Kakao Games subsidiary Kakao VX announced on the 8th that it will expand its business into healthcare and sports.
Kakao VX stated on the same day that it is "pursuing innovation as a 'sports digital transformation company'." The company plans to expand its business beyond its existing core golf business into sports areas such as 'home training' and 'healthcare.'
Kakao VX introduced 'Friends Screen,' which brings golf to the screen, and last year integrated existing screen golf brands such as 'T-up Vision 2' and 'G-Swing' under the 'Friends Screen' brand to operate its business.
In addition, Kakao VX has launched 'Smart Home Training,' which combines artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality technology, to broaden its healthcare domain. The Smart Home Training app saw a 254% increase in monthly active users (MAU) in January 2021 compared to the previous year.
Going forward, Kakao VX plans to expand its scope to all sports areas based on its know-how in 'sports digital transformation' and strengthen business synergy through convergence with Kakao affiliates.
Moon Tae-sik, CEO of Kakao VX, said, "We will lead the 'sports digital culture' that transforms lives into healthier ones through games and IT technology."
