[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] GS Home Shopping announced on the 8th that it is recruiting participants for the 4th Eco Social Impact Project, a support program for young people’s social venture startups, until the 29th of next month.

The Eco Social Impact Project is a social contribution activity by GS Home Shopping that helps prospective entrepreneurs or early-stage startups who want to establish social ventures in the sustainable environmental manufacturing sector. It began as the Social Impact Project in 2017 and this year focuses on the environmental field.

Participants in the Eco Social Impact Project can receive practical training to build a foundation for social innovation startups in environmental manufacturing, as well as intensive education to concretize their business plans. The entire program will be conducted online over approximately four months from April to August. Mentors include current startup consulting experts, legal professionals, and GS Home Shopping employees.

Any young person preparing for a social innovation environmental manufacturing startup can participate, and a total of 20 teams (individuals) will be recruited by the 29th. Ten teams (individuals) with outstanding project results will receive prototype production support funds worth approximately 3 million KRW, and the final first-place winner will receive 30 million KRW, while two second-place teams will each receive 10 million KRW as business support funds. If the business potential is recognized, they may be featured on GS Home Shopping’s donation broadcast.

Meanwhile, for applicants to the Eco Social Impact Project, a free online introductory lecture about the program, application tips, and an introduction to social innovation entrepreneurs and products in the environmental manufacturing sector will be held on the 19th. Detailed information can be found on the Eco Social Impact Project website.
