Yeongdeungpo-gu Provides Up to 2.1 Million KRW Support for Dust Collector Improvement for Small Machine and Metal Manufacturers in Mullae-dong

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Chae Hyun-il) has started supporting the installation of dust collectors in the machinery and metal cluster area of Mullae-dong from this month to improve the working environment.

A dust collector refers to a device that collects and removes dust or oil mist generated in machinery and metal workplaces. It is highly effective in reducing fine dust and is evaluated to contribute to creating a pleasant urban environment.

This dust collector support has been underway since 2019 as part of the Yeongdeungpo Gyeongin-ro area urban regeneration activation plan. The Yeongdeungpo Gyeongin-ro area urban regeneration activation plan is a project that the district has been promoting since 2018 with the goal of transforming the area into a city where industry and culture coexist through the creation of residential and cultural spaces and urban environment improvement.

This year, the district will also provide a subsidy of up to 2.1 million KRW per workplace for dust collector installation to support small manufacturers in Mullae-dong. Over the past two years, a total of 112 workplaces have received support from the district for dust collector installation costs.

Workplaces can directly select the necessary dust collectors and install any type and number of machines within the support amount. After installation, submitting proof documents will result in a subsidy of up to 2.1 million KRW, excluding a 10% personal contribution.

Eligibility for support includes machinery and metal manufacturing workplaces located in the machinery and metal cluster area of Mullae-dong, with the main industry listed as manufacturing on the small and medium enterprise certificate. The workplace must have five or fewer employees including the representative and must not have received dust collector installation subsidies in the past two years.

The dust collector installation support project accepts applications on an ongoing basis from this month. Applicants can fill out the application form posted in the ‘Notices/Announcements’ section on the district website and apply via email (kimbear@ydp.go.kr).

The district expects that this project will improve the deteriorated environment of workplaces in the Mullae-dong area, thereby enhancing productivity and improving the local image.

Chae Hyun-il, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “The machinery and metal cluster in Mullae-dong has long been the livelihood base for small manufacturers rooted in the local community. We will put more effort into improving and supporting outdated facilities so that we can open the future of Mullae-dong through sustainable development coexisting with a clean environment.”
