[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] On the 7th, new COVID-19 cases were reported continuously across the country.


According to the quarantine authorities and local governments including Seoul City, from 0:00 to 18:00 on the 7th, a total of 250 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were identified nationwide. This is 43 fewer than the 298 cases recorded at the same time the previous day.


By region, the metropolitan area accounted for the largest number with 187 cases (74.8%). Non-metropolitan areas reported 63 cases (25.2%).


By city and province, there were 92 cases in Seoul, 80 in Gyeonggi, 19 in Chungbuk, 15 in Incheon, 11 in Busan, 10 in Chungnam, 7 in Gangwon, 5 in Gwangju, 3 in Ulsan, 2 each in Gyeongbuk, Jeonbuk, and Jeju, and 1 each in Sejong and Gyeongnam. No confirmed cases have yet been reported in Daegu, Daejeon, or Jeonnam.


Since there is still time until midnight when the tally closes, the number of new confirmed cases announced as of 0:00 on the 8th is expected to increase further, reaching the 300s. On the previous day, 118 additional cases were reported by midnight, bringing the final total to 416.
