March 8 to March 21: 61 Construction Sites on 5 Lines Including Jungang Line
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The Gangwon Provincial Police Agency will inspect all construction sites along the entire expressway in Gangwon Province, including 61 sites across 5 routes such as the Jungang Line, from the 8th to the 21st of this month to prepare for the spring thaw season.
On the 7th, Gangwon police revealed that among expressway traffic accident fatalities over the past three years, the proportion of deaths occurring in construction zones was 5.2% (13 out of 252) in 2018, 6.3% (13 out of 205) in 2019, and 6.3% (13 out of 205) in 2020.
An official from the Provincial Police Agency emphasized, "As the number of construction zones on expressways is increasing, drivers need to exercise special caution. Adhering to the speed limits and practicing defensive driving are the most important for safe driving."
