Hampyeong-gun Selected as This Year's Top Consumer-Selected Brand... Chosen for 'Returning to Farming and Rural Living'

[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Jeonnam Hampyeong-gun announced on the 7th that it was selected in the 'Leading City for Returning to Farming and Rural Areas' category at the 2021 Consumer-Selected Best Brand Awards ceremony held at the Millennium Hilton Seoul in Jung-gu, Seoul.

The Consumer-Selected Best Brand Awards, hosted and organized by JoongAng Ilbo and Forbes Korea, is an event that selects the best brands in each industry (organization) category through consumer voting and expert evaluation. It is held annually with the purpose of discovering and nurturing excellent brands to contribute to enhancing national competitiveness.

Hampyeong-gun was evaluated as significant for various policy projects promoted last year, including the Jeonnam First Try Living Program, Urban Residents Rural Attraction Support Project, Comma Empty House Regeneration Project, and Returning to Farming and Rural Areas Agricultural Settlement Support Project.

Previously, the county was recognized externally as a central area for returning to farming and fishing villages, having been selected as the recipient of the 2020 Jeollanam-do Comprehensive Evaluation Award for Returning to Farming and Rural Areas.

County Governor Lee Sang-ik said, “It is an honor to receive a meaningful award recognized by consumers,” and added, “We will continue to promote projects in the field of returning to farming and rural areas, such as the 'Hampyeong-gun Returning to Farming and Rural Areas Stay-type Support Center' scheduled to open on the 9th of this month, to become the optimal destination for prospective returnees.”
