[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Joo Ho-young, floor leader of the People Power Party, criticized the prosecution's investigation into the speculation controversy involving employees of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), saying on the 7th, "In a world where Yoon Seok-yeol has disappeared, in a country where the prosecution has vanished, peace has come to the village of thieves."
On the morning of the same day, Joo said on his Facebook, "If the prosecution were alive, the public would have heard news that the prosecution conducted a full-scale raid on the LH headquarters office."
He pointed out, "Such things no longer happen. The prosecution is now part of a joint investigation team with related agencies and is under the command of the Minister of Justice and the First Deputy Prime Minister," adding, "The First Deputy Prime Minister, who is at the vice-ministerial level, must constantly watch the eyes of the Blue House's Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs and the Minister of Justice to determine how deeply to investigate the LH case."
He continued, "The Moon Jae-in administration beat and drove out Yoon Seok-yeol, the prosecution's representative player, over the course of a year. Which crazy prosecutor would dare to properly investigate the LH case?" and emphasized, "With the prosecution's backbone broken, the area around power feels cozy."
Joo also strongly criticized the ruling party, saying, "Why does the Democratic Party of Korea call for a thorough investigation but entrust the LH corruption to the Board of Audit and Inspection, demand prosecution investigations, or refrain from launching a parliamentary inquiry?" and added, "The 180 seats held by the Democratic Party are the main culprit breaking the justice and fairness of this country."
He added, "The Moon Jae-in administration plans to completely strip the prosecution of its investigative authority soon," and warned, "The birth of a privileged class that reigns above the law is imminent."
