[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] Hollywood actor Nicholas Cage (57) has welcomed his fifth bride. The bride, Shibata Riko (26), is Japanese and is known to be 31 years younger than Nicholas Cage.
According to foreign media such as People on the 5th (local time), Nicholas Cage held a wedding ceremony with his girlfriend Shibata Riko in Las Vegas, USA, on February 16.
Through People, Nicholas Cage reportedly expressed his feelings directly, saying, "It is true that I got married. I am very happy."
According to a representative of Cage, he held the wedding ceremony at a hotel in Las Vegas on that day to commemorate the birthday of his late father. The Japanese bride Shibata Riko wore a kimono for the wedding ceremony.
The two met about a year ago in Japan and developed into a couple, overcoming the 31-year age gap to get married. This marks Nicholas Cage's fifth marriage.
It is reported that his ex-wife Alice Kim and their son Kal also attended the wedding to celebrate.
Meanwhile, Nicholas Cage married his first wife Patricia Arquette in April 1995 but divorced six years later in 2001. The following year, in 2002, he remarried Marie Presley, daughter of singer Elvis Presley, but divorced the same year.
He later married Korean-American woman Alice Kim (Kim Yong-kyung), earning the nickname "Keseobang" among Korean fans, but the marriage ended in divorce after 12 years in June 2016. After that, he married Japanese woman Erika Koike for the fourth time in 2019 but filed for annulment just four days later. Cage said at the time, "I got married while drunk," and quickly divorced.
