[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) has produced promotional materials for 'safety.'
Seongbuk-gu created an 'Emergency Safety Notice' last month and has been distributing it intensively since March to safety-vulnerable groups such as single-person households, dementia patients, and elderly citizens.
Welfare staff deliver the notices directly through home visits and also place them at community service centers, making them available to any residents in need.
The 'Emergency Safety Notice' includes emergency numbers and the contact numbers of the community service center area offices for each crisis situation, enabling quick response and help requests in emergencies.
Considering situations where a third party might discover the emergency, it also contains basic information such as the recipient's name and emergency contact details. Additionally, it is made as a magnetic sticker for semi-permanent use.
Meanwhile, a 'Violence Prevention Warning' has also been produced to protect staff from malicious complaints. As cases of physical, verbal, and mental violence from malicious complainants continue to rise, the warning, which includes legal measures against violence, verbal abuse, and drunken disturbances, is distributed to community service centers and welfare departments.
Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, stated, "As COVID-19 prolongs, we are reducing welfare blind spots by distributing notices and checking on vulnerable groups exposed to safety risks." He added, "Furthermore, protecting staff from violent complaints and establishing a safe working environment is essential for providing high-quality administrative services, and we plan to continuously improve these measures."
