Gwangju Nam-gu, Recruiting Lifelong Education Activists for Retired Public Officials and Experts


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) announced on the 5th that it is recruiting Naerisarang Wisdom Sharing Lifelong Education Activists for retired public officials and private experts with experience and know-how until the 19th.


The number of recruits is up to 20, and applications can be submitted by visiting the Education Support Division on the 7th floor of Nam-gu Office.


Eligibility includes retired teachers and public officials residing in the district, as well as middle-aged and senior private experts who have obtained certificates related to education or arts and physical education activities, or who have more than one year of teaching experience in related fields.


Nam-gu plans to secure local professionals to meet the diverse learning needs of residents in the district due to changing times and to bridge learning gaps, supporting lifelong education activists for educationally marginalized groups such as welfare centers and local children's centers.


Those selected as lifelong learning activists will mainly teach literacy classes for the elderly, as well as English and Classical Chinese, and will provide after-school learning guidance and support for arts and music activities to help disadvantaged children.


A Nam-gu official said, “We hope for the active participation of professionals who wish to share their knowledge and wisdom so that education meeting the expectations of lifelong learning demanders can be provided by securing new instructors in various fields.”
