Deloitte Group Hosts Webinar on Swedish Medical Device Investment

Deloitte Group Hosts Webinar on Swedish Medical Device Investment The new logotype unveiled by Deloitte Anjin.

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] Deloitte Korea Group announced on the 5th that it will hold a webinar on investment in Swedish medical device companies together with the Swedish Trade and Invest Council in Korea at 4 p.m. on the 11th.

According to Deloitte, Sweden ranks 5th in the world in the number of life science-related patents per capita and is a leading country in the life sciences field. Since it is relatively less known in Korea, this webinar is expected to be a good opportunity to introduce Swedish medical device companies with high growth potential to the Korean market.

This webinar will be conducted via Zoom through pre-registration to comply with social distancing and quarantine guidelines due to COVID-19.

In the first session, Jiman Hwang, leader of the Life Sciences Division at Deloitte Korea Group, will give a presentation on the global life sciences industry outlook. In the second session, Niklas Holmberg, former Vice President of Handelsbanken, a major Swedish bank, and Executive Director at Nasdaq, will lecture on "Investment Strategies in Swedish Companies: From Considerations to Exit Strategies."

Afterwards, a total of eight Swedish medical device companies, including Epishure Medical, Alteco Medical, and Medfield Diagnostics, will each have a 10-minute IR session to explain their key products. Finally, there will be a Q&A session where attendees can freely ask questions and exchange opinions with the presenters.

Jiman Hwang, leader of the Life Sciences Division at Deloitte Korea Group, said, "Sweden is a globally strong country in the life sciences and medical device fields, and among the 50 medical device companies that wished to participate in this event, we selected eight companies with high technological capabilities and growth potential." He emphasized, "This webinar will be an opportunity to learn about the global life sciences outlook, investment opportunities, and the advanced medical device industry."

Christian Lee, Senior Investment Advisor at the Swedish Trade and Invest Council in Korea, said, "We are pleased to explain the investment environment of the Swedish life sciences market, which is considered the most attractive life sciences investment destination in Europe, to Korean investors and to introduce Swedish medical device companies." He added, "We hope this webinar will raise awareness of Sweden's high capabilities in the medical device sector and the potential for investment discovery."
