[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Junhyung] Pureunsol GC Pocheon, under the Eugene Group, has stepped up to help small business owners in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, who have been affected by COVID-19.
Pureunsol GC Pocheon announced on the 5th that it donated 50 million KRW to the Community Chest of Korea to support local small business owners. This donation will be used to assist small business owners and socially vulnerable groups in the Pocheon area who are struggling due to decreased sales caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition, Pureunsol GC Pocheon is carrying out various activities to revitalize the local economy. The golf course annually rents space free of charge to local farms where they can sell Pocheon specialty products, helping to increase income and expand sales channels. When hiring employees, preference is given to residents of Pocheon and nearby areas, contributing to local job creation. Furthermore, the golf course has also conducted activities such as donating funds raised through voluntary participation of visitors to the Community Chest of Korea.
Jo Ilgu, CEO of Pureunsol GC Pocheon, said, "I hope this donation will be a small hope for small business owners and vulnerable groups in Pocheon to overcome their difficulties," adding, "We will continue to prepare ways to coexist with the local community."
