District Visits Pollution Emission Sites for Energy Diagnosis and Consulting
The Dobong-gu Carbon Neutral Citizen Action Group visited local greenhouse gas emission sites on the 19th of last month to check the energy ratings of machinery and equipment.
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) is launching a campaign called "Finding Energy-Friendly Businesses in Our Neighborhood" to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from environmental pollutant-emitting business sites that discharge large amounts of dust and wastewater.
This project is an implementation task of the "2050 Dobong-gu Greenhouse Gas Reduction Strategy (7 Major Strategies for Promoting the Green New Deal and Achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050)" announced last September. From March to April, the district will conduct on-site inspections of 143 environmental pollutant-emitting business sites in the area and select "Energy-Friendly Businesses."
First, the district will visit 143 environmental pollutant-emitting business sites that discharge dust, odors, wastewater, and soil pollutants together with members of the 2050 Carbon Neutral Citizens' Action Group, an environmental organization in Dobong-gu.
Along with the on-site inspections, the inspection team will conduct energy diagnosis and consulting, including ▲replacement of high-efficiency energy equipment (LED lighting, motors, pumps, fans, agitators, etc.) ▲recommendation to replace boilers, drying facilities, burners, etc. with eco-friendly fuels to reduce greenhouse gases (examples: petroleum products → city gas, solar power) ▲energy saving by proper management and optimization of replacement cycles for consumables such as filters.
The district will select "Energy-Friendly Businesses" through a review by a committee composed of environmental groups and public officials for sites with excellent management performance. The list of "Energy-Friendly Businesses" will be published on the Dobong-gu website to encourage them.
Additionally, the selected "Energy-Friendly Businesses" will be certified by having the 2050 Carbon Neutral Citizens' Action Group directly affix an "Energy-Friendly Business" sticker at the business entrance.
Mayor Dongjin Lee of Dobong-gu said, "In accordance with the 2050 Dobong-gu Greenhouse Gas Reduction Strategy, we will select and promote 'Energy-Friendly Businesses' to support their efforts, and provide continuous energy consulting to underperforming businesses to help them become good businesses. We plan to select and announce about 10,000 'Energy-Friendly Stores' and 'Energy-Friendly Businesses' by 2050, so we ask for the interest and participation of all residents."
