Laying the Foundation for Strengthening Competitiveness and Mutual Development of Provincial Universities
Agreed on Joint Response to Curriculum, Credit Exchange, and Government Funding Projects Between the Two Universities
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Gyeongnam Provincial Geochang College and Gyeongnam Provincial Namhae College announced on the 4th that they signed an agreement for exchange and cooperation between provincial colleges at the small conference room of the Gyeongnam Provincial Government Western Office.
The purpose of this agreement between the two provincial colleges is to strengthen the competitiveness of provincial colleges in the province and to prepare measures for mutual development through exchanges between provincial colleges, as well as to provide a better educational environment and foster outstanding local talent through credit exchange and sharing of educational resources.
At the signing ceremony, Park Yoo-dong and Jo Hyun-myeong, presidents of the two colleges, along with the directors of academic affairs, secretaries-general, college officials, the head of the Gyeongsangnam-do Integrated Education Promotion Team, those in charge of university cooperation, provincial officials, Kim Young-jin, chairman of the Planning and Administration Committee, and provincial assembly members Kang Cheol-woo (Geochang) and Ryu Kyung-wan (Namhae) attended to celebrate the agreement between the two colleges.
The main contents of the agreement ceremony included ▲ the formation and operation of a working committee for exchange and cooperation between provincial colleges ▲ joint response to future development strategies between provincial colleges ▲ joint participation in government financial support projects between provincial colleges ▲ sharing of major, liberal arts, and extracurricular curricula ▲ sharing of digital-based remote classes and credit exchange ▲ sharing of educational resources ▲ and other matters as mutually agreed upon.
Through this agreement, the two provincial colleges of Geochang and Namhae have created an opportunity to strengthen competitiveness and promote mutual development by sharing curricula through credit exchange of remote classes, jointly operating educational projects such as field trips and employment camps, strengthening industry-academia cooperation through sharing family companies, and jointly promoting overseas training and cultural exploration through sharing overseas infrastructure.
Park Yoo-dong, president of Geochang College, said, “I am pleased that today’s agreement has laid the foundation for strengthening competitiveness and mutual development between colleges,” and added, “We will do our best to provide a better educational environment for students and contribute to regional development through this agreement.”
