On the same day, Democratic Party spokesperson Heo Young held a briefing at the National Assembly and said, "Prosecutor General Yoon has resigned. His inaugural speech, in which he promised that the prosecution would become a trusted institution by the people and that the prosecution itself would be the subject of reform to carry out uninterrupted reforms, has been revealed to be false."

Spokesperson Heo criticized, "Yoon Seok-yeol, who claimed 'I do not serve any person,' has been loyal solely to the power institution called the 'prosecution,' disguising it as fairness and justice. The prosecution's selective justice and selective investigations have targeted the living power, while shielding their own members under the guise of 'killing Yoon Seok-yeol,' demonstrating the capabilities of political prosecution." He added, "Now, how the politician Yoon Seok-yeol will be evaluated is entirely his own responsibility."

After the briefing, Spokesperson Heo told reporters, "He is an incompetent and irresponsible prosecutor general who failed to reform himself regarding the prosecution's behavior of selective investigations and selective justice," and pointed out, "His resignation announcement is the very image of a politician."
