Suncheon-si Accelerates Preparation for Establishing Facility Management Corporation Starting with Public Hearing


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City (Mayor Heo Seok) announced that on the 4th at around 2 p.m., it gathered opinions from more than 80 citizens and experts regarding the establishment of a Facilities Management Corporation at the Suncheonman International Wetland Center Conference Hall.


Through this public hearing, the city explained the 추진계획 (promotion plan) based on the feasibility study results for the seven finalized projects out of the eleven projects requested for feasibility review from the Local Public Enterprise Evaluation Institute, and shared the operational case of the Facilities Management Corporation in Jeonju City.


The facilities subject to delegation to the Facilities Management Corporation include seven facilities: ▲ Ecochon Youth Hostel ▲ Natural Recreation Forest ▲ Drama Filming Site ▲ Public and On-street Parking Lots ▲ City Hall Parking Lot ▲ Cultural Health Center Swimming Pool ▲ Memorial Park and Park Cemetery.


The various opinions submitted at the public hearing will be utilized as review materials during the feasibility review by the Establishment Deliberation Committee and when submitting the ordinance to the local council.


The city plans to proceed with administrative procedures for establishing the Facilities Management Corporation, including the second consultation with Jeollanam-do according to local public enterprise establishment and operation standards, the establishment decision by the Establishment Deliberation Committee, and the enactment of ordinances.


A city official stated, "We will carefully prepare by analyzing operational cases from other local governments to reduce trial and error regarding the diverse opinions and concerns raised by citizens today." He added, "The establishment of the Facilities Management Corporation will be a new innovation to improve administrative services and an opportunity to strengthen the city brand centered on citizen happiness."
