Expansion of Section Chief Promotions in 45th-46th Sessions... Number of Female Section Chiefs Increases to 15
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The Ministry of Economy and Finance conducted personnel changes on the 4th, replacing 56 out of a total of 117 department heads.
The Ministry emphasized that for this regular personnel reshuffle, they selected and assigned the best candidates for each position by comprehensively considering individual capabilities, contributions, and career achievements, aiming to appoint talented individuals with outstanding work performance and expertise.
Examples of such appointments include Jang Yoonjung, Director of Welfare Budget Division (43rd Administrative Examination), Jang Boyoung, Director of Employment Environment Budget Division (43rd), Kim Dongik, Director of International Finance Division (43rd), Choi Youngjeon, Director of Tax Analysis Division (44th), and Park Hoseong, Director of Legal Affairs Budget Division (44th).
The Ministry expanded the entry of department heads from the 45th to 46th Administrative Examination classes and invigorated the organization by appointing young and talented personnel to newly established departments and key positions. Examples include Lee Jiwon, Director of Fiscal Soundness Division (45th), Kim Junchul, Director of Private Investment Policy Division (46th), Na Yoonjung, Director of Population Economy Division (46th), Son Changbeom, Director of Contract Policy Division (46th), and Kim Taejung, Director of New International Tax Norms Division (46th).
The number of female department heads increased from 12 to 15. The number of department heads from the 7th grade open competitive examination also rose from 12 to 14.
However, the Taxation Office and Economic Policy Bureau made only minor personnel changes as the general directors remained unchanged. A Ministry of Economy and Finance official stated, "This personnel reshuffle seems to have focused on stability and expertise."
