[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] A-Root announced on the 4th that it has signed an agreement with Woong Biotech, which obtained certification from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for sterilized water, regarding commercialization and overseas sales.
Woong Biotech emphasized that it recently received certification from the U.S. FDA for the sterilized water it developed, verifying its safety for human use following the disinfection and sterilization agent certification for the new substance. It explained that it obtained FDA certification for disinfection and sterilization that kills strains and viruses, as well as certification confirming that the water is harmless to humans even when consumed as drinking water.
A company official stated, “The substance has passed certification tests from the Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL), a Korean construction and living environment testing institute, confirming it removes 99.9% of strains (pneumonia bacteria, E. coli),” and added, “The new substance production device has already been certified by the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL), a Korean industrial technology research institute, for removing 95.3% of viruses.”
He continued, “Overseas buyers were the first to learn about the FDA certification of the new substance and are currently negotiating, and the product launch will be announced soon,” adding, “We will become a leading company in K-quarantine going forward.”
