[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Bo-ryeong] Regarding Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's resignation, Kim Ki-hyun, a member of the People Power Party, emphasized that "another piece of the puzzle in the 'corruption complete sale' power takeover has been put in place."

On the 4th, Kim said on Facebook, "Thanks to Prosecutor General Yoon steadfastly holding his position despite pressure, disregard, and criticism from the living power, the constitutional spirit that had been barely maintained is now at risk of collapsing helplessly."

Earlier, Prosecutor General Yoon stated at 2 p.m. in front of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office building, "I intend to resign as Prosecutor General today," adding, "The constitutional spirit and rule of law system that have sustained this country are being destroyed. The damage will fall solely on the people."

Kim pointed out, "Contrary to Prosecutor General Yoon's sincere hope that 'my resignation would stop the introduction of the Serious Crimes Investigation Office,' whether Yoon is here or not, 'those people' who fear the aftermath will introduce the Serious Crimes Investigation Office, boldly abandon the uncontrollable prosecution, and try to thoroughly hide their crimes through power institutions that suit their tastes."

He continued, "The living power has repeatedly injected the message that if you are not 'one of us,' through impeachment motions against Prosecutor General Yoon, Board of Audit and Inspection Chairman Choi Jae-hyung, Senior Presidential Secretary for Civil Affairs Shin Hyun-soo, and judges, you can be labeled an 'enemy' and suppressed at any time. The officials, knowing these policies go against national interests, will pretend to be soulless public servants to survive, and investigative agencies that should clearly expose corruption and irregularities will be anxious about power scandals being revealed and will be busy hiding whatever comes to light."

Kim also said, "Now, the only force that can stop this omnipotent regime is the wise people."
