[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Engis Technology announced on the 4th that its consolidated financial statements recorded sales of 33.6 billion KRW last year, an increase of 432.7% compared to the previous year. Operating profit and net profit turned positive at 4.5 billion KRW and 0.5 billion KRW, respectively.
This performance reflects the full-year results of Melcon, which was acquired in December 2019. In 2020, Melcon recorded sales of 28.6 billion KRW, operating profit of 5.5 billion KRW, and net profit of 9 billion KRW, representing growth of 63%, 102%, and 169% respectively compared to the previous year.
In 2020, Engis Technology drove overall sales growth by increasing revenue through OTA (Over-The-Air) supply to global automakers and by actively pursuing business synergies with its subsidiary Melcon.
Melcon is a semiconductor advanced equipment specialist company producing semiconductor ultra-precision temperature and humidity control devices as its main products. Benefiting from the large-scale facility investment trend in the semiconductor outlook industry, it recorded a high sales growth rate. In terms of profit, it grew more than 100% compared to the previous year, significantly contributing to Engis Technology’s consolidated profit expansion.
A company official stated, “This year, we plan to focus the company’s capabilities to make it the first year of full-scale growth through increased OTA sales to global automakers, the official launch of electric vehicle connected navigation solutions for European automakers, and synergy creation with Melcon.”
