My role ends here."
Below is the full text of the resignation statement.
I intend to resign as Prosecutor General today. The constitutional spirit and the rule of law system that have upheld this country are being destroyed. The damage will inevitably fall upon the people.
I can no longer stand by as the justice and common sense that this society has painstakingly built crumble. My work in the prosecution ends here.
However, just as I have done so far, I will continue to devote my efforts to protecting liberal democracy and the people, regardless of the position I hold in the future.
I thank those who have supported and encouraged me, as well as those who have offered sharp criticism.
