Rental of up to 5 sessions per month, 4 days each, for 1,600 job-seeking youth
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 4th that it will resume the 'Shootgol' (Suit Goal) project, which lends suits for job interviews free of charge to young people in the province, starting from the 5th.
The project targets job-seeking youth aged 19 to 34 who reside in Gyeongnam or are enrolled in universities within the province. The rental period is 4 days per use, and each person can borrow suits up to 5 times per year.
Rentals can be applied for on the Gyeongsangnam-do website (Youth Support Project → Shootgol). Considering accessibility and convenience for youth, a total of four rental locations were selected: two in Changwon, and one each in Gimhae and Jinju.
The province first implemented the free suit rental project for interviews at the metropolitan provincial level in 2019. It supported 971 cases in 2019 and 988 cases in 2020, receiving great response from young people, and this year the support has been significantly expanded to 1,600 cases.
Kim Sangwon, head of the Youth Policy Promotion Team of Gyeongnam Province, explained, "The project name Shootgol, combining Suit and Goal, carries a message of encouragement for young people to wear suits supported by Gyeongnam and score a goal in employment."
