Gangdong-gu 'Labor Network Support Project' Call for Proposals

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) is conducting a public contest for the ‘Labor Network Support Project’ until March 16 to support the business activities of worker small groups and organization networks and to discover creative labor agendas.

Eligibility for application includes worker small groups composed of three or more people or organizations/individuals engaged in labor-related activities.

The total support amount is 15 million KRW, with up to 3 million KRW available per project.

Eligible projects include overall labor-related activities such as promoting labor human rights, spreading a culture of respect for labor, and strengthening networks for vulnerable workers.

Specific examples of projects include support for young freelance instructors, surveys on call center workers’ conditions, self-help groups for working women, production of labor awareness improvement content, and improvements to cultural and artistic labor human rights systems.

To apply, applicants must prepare a local subsidy application form, an introduction of the organization, a member list, and a project plan, and submit them either by visiting in person or via email.

During the application period, the Gangdong-gu Labor Rights Center offers pre-consultations to assist with writing project plans. For more details, please refer to the Gangdong-gu Labor Rights Center website.

Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, “This year, we have launched the Labor Network Support Project for the first time to support various forms of labor rights promotion activities created by workers themselves,” adding, “We ask for many applications so that this can become a valuable foundation for building a labor-friendly city Gangdong.”
