Jinju City Council Actively Participates in Red Cross Relief Activities Jinju City Council Chairman Lee Sang-young is delivering the Red Cross special membership fee.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Jinju City Council in Gyeongnam announced on the 3rd that it delivered a special Red Cross membership fee of 1 million KRW for 2021 to the Gyeongnam branch of the Korean Red Cross at the chairman's office.


The delivery ceremony was attended by Chairman Lee Sang-young, Kim Eun-hee, standing committee member of the Gyeongnam branch of the Korean Red Cross, Ha Chang-yong, director of the Western Volunteer Center, and Jeong Gye-seon, president of the Jinju District Council of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association.


Chairman Lee said, "I express my deep gratitude to the volunteers and officials who carry out various relief activities despite the difficult situation such as COVID-19 response," and added, "The city council will also actively participate to help recover the weakened local economy and to spread a warm culture of sharing for neighbors in welfare blind spots."


The collected Red Cross membership fees are used for various projects such as domestic and international disaster relief activities, discovering vulnerable groups and providing medical support, and disaster safety education.
