[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City is taking steps to stabilize housing prices through large-scale housing supply.
On the 3rd, the city announced the "Comprehensive Plan for Expanding Housing Supply and Stabilizing Housing Prices" with this content.
The comprehensive plan focuses on managing housing supply and stabilizing sale prices.
First, housing supply management centers on sequentially supplying 34,000 houses in the Daejeon area this year, 71,000 houses by 2023, and 129,000 houses by 2030.
Through this, the city plans to raise the housing supply rate to 113%, the level of advanced countries, by 2030, thereby achieving a balance in housing supply and demand and securing residential rights capacity.
In particular, the Dream Town supply policy to support housing stability for youth, newlyweds, and the elderly will sequentially begin construction of 1,777 houses this year and 3,345 houses next year.
To stabilize sale prices, eligibility for sale applications will also be strengthened. The city has already increased the required local residence period from the previous 3 months to 1 year to raise the winning probability for actual demanders. Additionally, through the operation of the "Apartment Project Cost Verification Team," sale prices for four complexes including Gapcheon 1BL have been lowered by 640,000 to 790,000 KRW per pyeong.
Furthermore, by strengthening crackdowns on the real estate market, such as on so-called "Tteotdabang" (illegal real estate agents), the city explains that it aims to block speculative demand inflow and create a synergy effect in stabilizing sale prices.
Kim Jun-yeol, Director of the Urban Housing Bureau of the city, said, "Through the implementation of the comprehensive plan, we will promote balanced housing supply and improve residential welfare," adding, "In particular, we will faithfully carry out the housing supply plan so that the Daejeon Dream Town housing supply can lead to housing stability for the homeless, youth, newlyweds, and the elderly."
