[Asia Economy Reporter Song Hwajeong] Mirae Asset Daewoo announced on the 3rd that it will hold the 'University Student Challenge' until the 30th of next month to coincide with the start of the university semester.
This challenge is divided into a marketing contest and a mock investment competition, featuring a total scholarship fund of 44 million KRW and an internship opportunity for the first-place winner.
The marketing contest, held under the theme "MZ Generation (those born from the early 1980s to early 2000s, the 2030 generation) marketing as thought by the MZ Generation," allows participation as individuals or teams (up to 3 members). Participants can submit various marketing ideas via email, such as branding ideas to increase MZ target awareness and ways to activate SNS channels.
After reviewing submissions received by April 30, a total of 8 teams will advance to the finals, where final rankings will be determined through competitive presentations (PT).
The grand prize winner team will receive a scholarship of 5 million KRW and an internship opportunity, while two teams will receive the excellence award with 3 million KRW scholarships each, and five teams will receive the merit award with 1 million KRW scholarships each.
The mock investment competition operates in four leagues: domestic league (stocks, ETFs) and overseas league (stocks, ETFs), with awards given to the top 1st to 5th place in each league based on returns.
The first-place winner in each league will receive a scholarship of 3 million KRW and an internship opportunity, while those placing 2nd to 5th will receive scholarships of 1 million KRW each.
Applications for the mock investment competition can be submitted until the 26th via the Mirae Asset Daewoo website and the Mirae Asset Daewoo mock investment app. The competition period runs from March 15 to April 30.
The university student challenge also includes various raffle events. By regramming the 'Mirae Asset Daewoo University Student Challenge' post on Instagram to their own account, a total of 500 people will be selected by lottery to receive Starbucks Americano gifticons, and among mock investment competition participants, 20 will be drawn to receive Apple AirPods.
Kwon Oman, Head of Digital Business Division at Mirae Asset Daewoo, said, "With the recent stock investment boom, investment culture is spreading among the MZ generation," adding, "Since this challenge event is for university students, who can be considered representatives of the MZ generation, we hope it will be an opportunity to propose fresh marketing ideas and gain valuable investment experience."
