[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Eun-mo] Wavve will offer the KakaoTV original content 'Ajik Natseoreun' as a subscription service.
Online video service Wavve announced on the 3rd that it will provide the empathetic romance 'Ajik Natseoreun,' which was first released on the 23rd, twice a week.
'Ajik Natseoreun' is a hot topic that recorded 2.7 million views within two days of its release. It is a 15-episode mid-form drama based on the 20-minute-per-episode webtoon '85nyeonsaeng.' After its release on KakaoTV, it will be available on Wavve every Wednesday and Sunday morning.
The romance unfolds as Seo Ji-won (played by Jung In-sun), a 30-year-old webtoon artist, meets her first love from middle school, Lee Seung-yoo (played by Kang Min-hyuk), as her webtoon planning manager after 15 years.
Since November last year, Wavve has been offering KakaoTV originals such as 'Love Revolution,' 'Amanza,' and 'Myeoneuragi' as subscription services. Among them, 'Myeoneuragi' and 'Ajik Natseoreun' are exclusively available on Wavve outside of KakaoTV.
Kim Kyung-ran, head of content planning at Content Wavve, said, "It was an experimental attempt to provide well-made mid-form content to users familiar with broadcast content, but it is achieving much better results than expected."
